Where lives are restored

Our story began one Christmas Eve in 1999. Pastors JoJo and Karina set out with love in their hearts and over 1,000 hot dog bags, hoping to bring a little warmth to the cold streets of Skid Row. To their surprise, the food was gone after only two blocks. In that moment, they realized the depth of the need—and something powerful was born in their hearts.

Since then, our mission has been clear: to ensure that no one in our Los Angeles community goes to bed hungry. We know the struggle families face as food prices rise, and we’re committed to lightening that burden. Every meal we provide is more than just food—it’s a message of care, a reminder that someone is looking out for them, and that they are never alone. 

Having the backing, support, and guidance of Pastor Guillermo Monje has guided us through unfamiliar territories, made things smooth, and turned this vision into a reality.

Our mission is to preach the gospel, bring good news to the poor, freedom to the captives, heal the brokenhearted, and spread light, kindness, and generosity in this dark world. Come as you are; we will welcome you with open arms. (Jeremiah 1:10)

Having the support of the LAPD fills us with confidence and hope, knowing that together, we are making a meaningful difference in our community.

The HACLA developments have been our target for food distribution. We know there will always be a need for food support in low-income communities.
